Liverpool's Star Extends Apology to Teammates, Reveals Curtis Jones
Jones has shared that Salah said sorry to the team following the controversy from his public comments.
What Happened
The striker was dropped from a European match after criticising the club and claiming his relationship with manager had broken down.
“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “His apology was clear and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, I apologise.’”
Arne Slot has chosen not to reveal on whether he was apologised to from the 33-year-old forward.
Team Unity
Jones insisted that the team's response remained positive. “He was the exact same Mo, he had a big smile on his face and everybody was exactly the same with him,” Jones added.
Jones also suggested that a competitor wanting to play is less of an issue. “I understand there are different methods you can handle situations,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just not start, then I think that’s more of an issue.”
On-Field Response
Liverpool's form have been impressive in the matches since the initial controversy. The player is convinced the outburst were not designed to harm the team.
“When there’s been any sort of anger, it has consistently come from a desire to win,” he finished. “It's behind us and we’re gelling well as a team, performing and on a positive run.”
