I'll overwhelm 'serious fighter' Paul - Joshua
Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round match which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.
Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" the American as the combatants came face-to-face to promote next month's bout.
Ex twice world title holder Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive mismatch - at Miami venue on December 19th.
Boxer's Mentality
"I plan to damage his features and break his body up. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.
"I will genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my goal."
Respectful Exchange
In spite of those words, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - usually recognized for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.
Paul rather targeted former Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after Ngannou declined a fight offer.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at UK rival Tyson Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a victory for Paul.
"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua stated.
"I respect him for that."
Serious Fighter
In spite of stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.
Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.
He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.
Commercial Success
Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of boxing's largest money-making draws, frequently receiving massive financial rewards.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28-year-old predicted a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would stop the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly in the works for 2026.
"It will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul said.
Size Disparity
As Joshua and Paul met for the customary stare-down, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it emphasized just how surprising this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the match is truly happening.
